From Pioneer Project to a Brand for Premium Organic Olive Products
Looking back at photos from the 1980s feels like stepping into a different era. And yet, so much of what defines us today was already there: passion, purpose, and a deep connection to this land. We invite you to join us on our journey—from the very first bottle of olive oil in 1980 to MANI Bläuel in 2025, one of the most beloved organic olive brands in Greece. A story of pioneering spirit, authenticity, and sustainable success.
Taking Root in the Mani – with Heart and Hands
For 45 years, our family business has been rooted in the Mani region. Now led by the second generation, MANI Bläuel stands for much more than high-quality organic products. We are guided by a value-based philosophy founded on respect, sustainability, and fair partnerships.
A Passionate Beginning: The First Invoice in 1980
On June 12, 1980, Fritz Bläuel issued the very first invoice for “virgin olive oil of local origin” – hand-filled into labeled glass bottles. That moment marked the beginning of an extraordinary journey. Today, the company employs more than 75 people and works with over 300 small-scale farmers – many of whom have been with us since the very beginning.
Pioneering Organic Agriculture in Greece
As early as 1986, Fritz and Burgi Bläuel began their groundbreaking work to promote organic farming in Greece. In 1991, we delivered our first certified organic olive oil – a milestone. The MANI Bläuel brand followed in 2007 and has since stood for uncompromising organic quality from Greece.
Tradition Meets Innovation: The MANI Product Range
From olives and olive oil to flavorful mezes and delicate olive pastes – our MANI product range brings together tradition and enjoyment. What makes this possible is the trusting cooperation with local olive farmers. Fritz recalls: “I had no guarantees whatsoever – and still, the farmers entrusted me with their olive oil. I’ll always be grateful for that.”
Fairness as a Guiding Principle
Today, this spirit lives on through Felix Bläuel and Julia Löschenbrand-Bläuel. Under their leadership, the company received Naturland Fair certification in 2014 – further proof of our commitment to the highest social and ecological standards. At the heart of everything we do is a mindful approach to people and the planet.
Rethinking Responsibility
At MANI Bläuel, social engagement is more than a buzzword – it's something we live and breathe. We support local initiatives, rely on fairly paid raw materials, and are constantly improving our sustainable energy and packaging systems. In 2004, we also founded the MANI Sonnenlink Guesthouse – Greece’s first organic hotel, lovingly run by Burgi Bläuel with music and heart.
Responsibility with Vision – for 45 Years
After 45 years, MANI Bläuel remains a living example of how meaningful change can happen – through organic growth, mutual trust, and a respectful relationship with nature and people. Felix and Julia are continuing this journey with a clear vision for a future that is sustainable, fair, and deeply rooted in the values we have upheld since day one.
