These cheese balls in olive oil are the perfect gift – if they weren’t so delicious and visually appealing that you’d want to keep them for yourself! Cheese balls are super easy to make and can be prepared year-round.
| Preparation Time | Approx. 20 minutes + 8 hours chilling time |
| Difficulty Level | Easy |
Ingredients (for about 15 balls):
- 500 g Greek yogurt (high fat content)
- 1 tsp MANI Sea Salt
- 1 handful of dried or fresh herbs (e.g., oregano, thyme, basil, chives, parsley, rosemary)
- MANI Olive Oil
Instructions:
- Place a cloth over a bowl and create a small well in the center.
- Mix yogurt with MANI Sea Salt and herbs, then place it into the well.
- Tightly tie the cloth to form a ball.
- Refrigerate the yogurt mixture for 8 hours. It should lose enough liquid to become moldable.
- Shape into balls and place them in a sealable jar, covering them with olive oil.
MANI Tip:
We used the leftover olive oil from our MANI Green Olives in Olive Oil for this recipe and added the last olives for a more intense olive flavor!
If the mixture isn’t firm enough to shape, let it rest in the refrigerator longer.
The cheese balls can be stored for up to two weeks but must be completely covered in olive oil to remain fresh.
